cable?" error message. This is known problem since RedHat 9.0 and documented in
VMware Knowledgebase with solution.
This can be fixed by adding following line to end of /etc/sysconfig/network-
scripts/ifcfg-eth0 "check_link_down() { return 1; }" and restarting network
service.

Thanks for ur suggestion.
I have installed rhel4 on intel.
it was working fine for 4 days.
but when i had a reboot I started to face this proble.
Even after applying ur suggestion. The same error continues.
and if it is static no error. error comes only when i take dynamic ip address.
